karttel is desktop software. The short version: your footage stays on your computer, and the only personal information involved is what is needed to sell you a licence and keep it working.

What stays on your computer

Your recordings, the telemetry read from them, your lap times, your saved circuits and every report or video you export. None of it is uploaded anywhere. There is no account to log into and no cloud storage.

What leaves your computer, and when

Licence checks. Your licence key and a name for the computer (for example "Oliver's MacBook") are sent to Lemon Squeezy so the subscription can be verified. This happens on activation and every few days afterwards.
Map imagery. When you set a start/finish line, the map area you are looking at is requested from Esri's imagery service.
Published timing. Only if you ask karttel to compare a session against an official results page, it fetches that page.

That is the complete list. karttel contains no analytics, no tracking and no advertising.

Payment information

Payments are handled by Lemon Squeezy, who are the seller of record. They collect your email address, billing details and payment method under their own privacy policy. Card details are never seen by karttel or its author.

What is kept, and for how long

Your email address and subscription history are held by Lemon Squeezy for as long as you are a customer, and afterwards for as long as tax law requires records to be kept. No other personal data is stored.

Your rights

Under UK GDPR you can ask for a copy of your personal data, ask for it to be corrected or deleted, or object to its use. Write to the address below and it will be dealt with within a month. You may also complain to the Information Commissioner's Office at ico.org.uk.
